Highlights

  • Listens through BlackHole or Loopback, so the plants hear the audio playing on your Mac.
  • Turns the sound into 128 frequency bands on the Mac.
  • Assigns each plant the mix, the left channel, or the right channel.
  • Saves presets for the input, levels, bin maps, and plant assignments.

The app takes an audio input. System playback stays on the speakers until you route it through a virtual device. Install BlackHole (free) or Loopback, send your audio into that device, and select it in PixelAir Audio Bridge.

Tutorial

Choose the input

Select the BlackHole or Loopback device that is receiving your system audio. In Loopback, add headphones or speakers as a monitor only if you also want to hear the audio. Then choose whether plants update at 50 or 100 times a second.

Shape the level

Gain, range, attack, release, and a low-to-high bias sit next to a live EQ visualizer. Switch the view between left, right, and mix, and preview a bin map before a plant uses it.

Send each plant its own part

Fluora plants on the local network show up in the device list. Set one to the full mix, or split a stereo pair so one plant follows the left channel and another follows the right. You can scan again or add a plant by IP.

Zoom in on a frequency range

A bin map takes a slice of the spectrum, such as a kick or a snare, and stretches it across all 128 bins. Name a few maps, save the whole setup as a preset, and switch between shows without rebuilding the routing.
